About Phil
Felipe “Phil” Longoria is a proud Whittier resident of nearly 20 years who believes strong communities are built by neighbors working side by side. Professionally, Phil serves as Director of Operations & RME for Special Event Contractors, bringing over 30 years of experience in operations, planning, training, and budgeting. He oversees large-scale infrastructure installations including flooring and walkways for nationally recognized events such as the Super Bowl and major award shows.
A Record of Service
Phil has dedicated more than 17 years to volunteering in the nonprofit sector, serving on two nonprofit boards and earning recognition as Volunteer of the Year at both the State and West Coast levels. Regardless of political affiliation or perspective, Phil has never stopped working to raise funds, support children and families, and strengthen the community he calls home.
Rooted in Whittier
Phil lives, shops, eats, and recreates in Whittier. He values the relationships built over decades, the pride of neighborhood connections, and the special feeling that comes from being part of this city. He has been with his wife for almost 35 years and understands that strong families and strong communities go hand in hand.
A Unifying Voice for Our Community
This is not a left or right, red or blue issue. Together as a community — working side by side — we can make the changes we want to see in our neighborhoods.
Phil believes we may not always agree — and that’s okay. In fact, it is often our differences that make us stronger, challenge us to think differently, and ultimately lead to better solutions.
He will not make empty promises just to claim progress. What he will promise is this: he will listen, he will engage, and he will work to provide clear, honest answers about where we stand and what can realistically be accomplished.
Phil is committed to creating more open dialogue through regular town halls and consistent opportunities for residents to share their concerns, ideas, and challenges directly. Communication should not happen only during elections — it should be ongoing, transparent, and accessible.
His focus is simple:
· Bring people together
· Encourage open dialogue and regular town halls
· Promote transparency and accountability
· Build a safer, stronger community
